I was about to think hypocrisy like everyone here, but according to the Oregonian article and other videos"Jo Ann Hardesty" Is a very frail scrawny looking 63 year old woman. That meant she was probably extra sensitive to the cold air draft from the windows open. The cold air was bothering her enough to where she couldn't believe the Covid 19 restrictions policy of Lyft was leave the windows open slightly. She probably thought the driver was being defiant about her needs to stay warm. The article read like she was afraid she was being abandoned at a little Chevron gas station. I doubt there's any place inside to sit down out of the cold while waiting for another lyft or taxi or uber driver. She called the police because the Lyft driver was already going to call the cops on her, so she wanted to explain her side of the story a.s.a.p. I don't personally agree with the policy to "defund the police" in Portland Oregon of all places, but IMHO this was not a simple matter of hypocrisy, rather someone standing up for her own frail vulnerability against the cold night air and solitude waiting outside an isolated gas station by the Highway.

This masterpiece should win the simping award of the year. There are, however, a few glitches in this masterful hypothesis The "very frail scrawny looking 63 year old woman" was tough enough to be waiting near a side door of a casino at 9:30 or so at night, tough enough to berate the LYFT driver for not being psychic enough to know she hadn't bothered to set her location accurately in her phone, tough enough to continue berating the driver to such an extent that he decided it was safer to pull over at the nearest exit instead of continuing to try to drive her on a throughway for another 25 minutes, tough enough to argue with the police dispatcher about LYFT procedures for getting her a different driver, and tough enough to go after 63 year old Mr. Frost's livelihood by sending a duplicitous message to LYFT later that night. If she had mentioned being cold, likely Mr. FROST would have courteously turned up the heat in the car or offered her a throw away emergency blanket like many of the drivers carry. And surely at 63 Ms Hardesty knows enough to wear a suitable coat for unpredictable autumn weather. And at 63 she should be able to distinguish between LYFT policy and CDC mandates. AND it's not a "little" Chevron station; it's huge, and busy, with its convenience store open til 10 pm and the 24-hour gas pumps well lit all night. There is no indication that Ms Hardesty's 63 year old eyes could not see the huge gas station she was sitting in front of when she called police dispatch and described it as "a filling station". Mr. Frost pulled over in front of the Chevron station with more than 10 minutes to go til closing - time enough for the "frail" lady to use a restroom and buy a warm beverage if she needed to. The two police officers and 2d LYFT driver apparently got there before closing, but Ms Hardesty's need to continue to victim signal dragged the drama out til approximately 10:15 pm. Perhaps the "very frail ... 63 year old woman" should take a limo instead of a ride share the next time - perhaps out of money defunded from the police. I appreciate robbys lilshadow's chivalry, but wish s/he would find more deserving objects for their solicitude. IMUO, this case proves every LYFT driver should invest $50 in a dashcam.

@Rita Hartmann I don't know who you're calling "simping". I sure as hell was not an eye witness nor claiming the Oregonian is accurate. I don't particularly like her. I'm only going by this audio and the Oregonian article. I also learned this lady is crazily a bit on the parnoid racist edge and is paranoid and wants to end her fears (some imagined and some perhaps real) of alleged "white male privilege".

@Rita Hartmann believe me I'm not simping for a burnt out 63 year old civil rights hypervigilant zealot determined to assume I have ever had any sort of white male privilege. And I say that as a white man. The irony that you'd call me "simp" in this matter when I just wrote a big critical memoir of Joy DeGruy (a peer of hers (another 63 year old) from way back is the funniest assumption I ever read in my entire life LMAO.
